Clark Lee was born and raised on the red clay country roads listening to flat picking of Doc Watson and the swing music of Bob Will and his Texas Playboys. Growing up near and around the Red Dirt Rangers and the Great Divide and being a few years younger than contemporary peer and fellow Stillwater resident Stoney Larue, Red Dirt was everywhere even thought he didn't know it at the time . Clark's dad Charlie, brought home a Martin guitar when he was 11 and started singing the old bluegrass , classic country ,and swing music that shaped his early years. Clark was a staple of the senior citizen dance circuit in and around Payne county. This nurturing of the local jams gave him a passion for the stage and entertainment.
As he entered high school, bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam , and Soundgarden were blowing up, as well as Clark's discovery of his love of the Bakersfield sound through Pete Anderson playing with Dwight Yoakam, and Roy Nichols with Merle Haggard and the Strangers and the roots rocks of Mike Campbell with Tom Petty as Hendrix, Clark and his spent his life trying to blend all of those styles to create his own unique sound of what he calls American Country Rock.
After his time on the road as a sideman in the 2010's, Clark stepped away after the loss of his Beloved 96 Fender Telecaster to regroup and focus on other passions of life, most importantly raising his family, his relationship God and his love of horses. He now finds himself with a driving passion to tell his testimony through song. "The guitar never judges me, the songs speak for me not against " Clark Lee says. Life is a journey, come take a tour of Clark Lee's path with the release of this debut EP " The Front Porch Chronicles, Pt.1
